Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway recently played a dynamic role in the successful execution of the Matua Mela. Sealdah Division’s meticulous planning and perfect execution ensured that pilgrims had a smooth and fulfilling experience.
The Matua Mela, a grand celebration of the Matua community, witnessed an overwhelming turnout of devotees this year from across the country. Anticipating the surge in passenger traffic, Sealdah Division proactively implemented a comprehensive strategy to manage the mob and ensure the comfort and safety of all devotees.
For this mela, Operating Department of Sealdah Division demonstrated exceptional efficiency by introducing special trains and augmenting the frequency of existing EMU local services. This strategic move effectively mitigated congestion and facilitated the timely movement of pilgrims to and fro. Dedicated Commercial Counters, recognizing the importance of seamless ticketing and passenger assistance, the Commercial Department established dedicated counters at Thakurnagar station. These counters were manned by courteous and efficient staff who provided prompt assistance to pilgrims, provide Hand Held Terminal also ensure a hassle-free travel experience and avoid queue also. For uninterrupted power supply Electrical General Department played a crucial role in maintaining a consistent and reliable power supply throughout the festival period. Their meticulous planning and execution ensured that the station premises and surrounding areas remained brightly illuminated, enhancing the safety and ambiance of the event.
The Railway Protection Force maintained vigilant security measures and strong presence throughout the festival, ensuring the safety and security of all attendees. Their proactive approach and unwavering vigilance deterred any untoward incidents, allowing pilgrims to participate in the festivities without fear.
